ChartIQ as well as over twenty banks and capital markets solution providers have joined together to create a group called Financial Desktop Connectivity and Collaboration Consortium (FDC3). The goal of FDC3 is to provide a universal connectivity and standards for all desktop applications for finance. FDC3 looks to enable faster decision-making, improve productivity, and streamline workflows through interoperability of desktop applications.
WatersTechnology reached out to our CEO and Co-founder, Dan Schleifer, about his thoughts on how FDC3 will support Finsemble and the financial industry. Dan said, “To make the great unbundling a reality you need standards for interoperability. The tough part is that standards take a lot of time and buy-in to happen, and people want things they can use now. And once they do emerge, you then need implementations that adhere to the standards, which takes even longer. As a vendor, we want to make the future a reality now—offering interoperability and workflows in [the company’s UI/UX toolkit] Finsemble today—while also fully participating in standards development. So, we commit to our customers that if they build using Finsemble, we’ll support the standards under the hood when they do emerge.” Read Banks and Buy Side Ally for Desktop App Interoperability for more.
